Overview

Franke Linear Systems are the best solution when it comes to speed and lightweight construction.

They owe their outstanding functionality to the tried and true 4-point contact. Their modular construction allows us to individually modify the Linear Systems to deliver precisely what you need.

Wire raceways made of steel or non-corrosive inserted in the aluminium body ensure high resilience and load capacity. The wire raceway is aligned with the width of the rollers and keeps them precisely on track.

Lightweight – highly dynamic

Low weight – high load capacity

Integrated raceways made of steel or non-corrosive steel take high loads from all directions. Franke aluminum linear systems are perfectly suited for applications where highly dynamic movements and light weight design are requested.

Versetzte Spindelrollen

Maintenance-free over the entire service life

The rollers are lifetime lubricated. The bearings used are sealed to prevent lubricant grease from escaping. The guide system operates cleanly and maintenance-free over the entire service life.

Motorized modules

Franke Linear Systems are available fitted with drive and control and are convincing in their:

  • High dynamism
  • High travel speed
  • Small mounting space
  • Lightweight construction
  • Aluminum roller guide in standard version
  • Rollers with needle bearings for smooth and eays running

Sealed rollers for maintenance-free operation over the entire service life. Light, clean run.

  • Aluminum roller guide in low-cost-design
  • Rollers with ball bearings

Particularly suitable for cost-sensitive applications with reduced stress and noise requirements.

  • Aluminum roller guide in non-corrosive design
  • Integrated raceways made of non-corrosive steel
Insensitive to environmental influences as well as moisture or cleaning agents.
  • Aluminum roller guide in non-magnetic design
  • Integrated raceways made of non-magnetic steel

Non-magnetic tracks without influence on prevailing magnetic fields (e.g., in medical or electronics manufacturing).

  • Aluminum roller guide in lubricant-free design
  • Lubricant-free rollers for smooth and clean running

Special rollers without lubricants. Suitable for use in a vacuum or in clean rooms.

  • Aluminum roller guide in non-corrosive low cost design
  • Integrated racewys made of non-corrosive steel
  • Rollers with ball bearings

Particularly suitable for cost-sensitive applications in harsh environments or when using cleaning agents.

  • Aluminum roller guide in highly dynamic design
  • Rollers with angular ball bearings for high speed and acceleration

Rollers with angular ball bearings for maximum acceleration and speed values, for example when using linear motors as the drive source.

Answers to frequently asked questions

Franke linear guides are factory set free from clearance. If the respective load situation requires this, the clearance can be subsequently adjusted by using an integrated threading pin.

Franke Linear Systems come equiped with a wiper. Metal scrapers and bellows are available as accessories.

With Franke linear systems, travel speed up to 10 m/s and accelerations up to 40m/s² can be reached.

Size 12-20 [mm] Size 25-45 [mm]
max. tolerance for parallel run 0,03/m 0,05/m
max. evenness of screw-on surface 0,05/m 0,10/m

Franke Linear Systems are low-maintenance and have factory-fitted lifetime lubrication.

Relubrication is not necessary, apart from the ball screw. Relubrication may be necessary – depending on the use – resulting from leakage of grease via the spindle shaft.
We recommend relubrication with approximately 1 – 2 g grease in intervals of approximately 700 operating hours. If necessary you should clean the insides and the guide tracks and coat them with grease.

The slide resistance depends on how long the linear guide is running in certain sections. The corresponding travel speed is also important.
For a precise definition of the slide resistance please contact our technical support:
https://www.franke-gmbh.com/contact/international/

This can be achieved by a rework at the bottom of the cassette.
Please get in contact with our technical support for more detailed information:

The following parameters are required to correctly design the guides:

  • Selection of arrangement
  • All prevalent forces/moments (dynamic/static)
  • Load type (resting, expanding, alternating)
  • Ambient influences (e.g. temperature, moisture) or special operating conditions (e.g. clean room, vacuum)
  • Travel speed and acceleration
  • Stroke length
  • Target service life in km

All prevailing forces and moments must be within the specified limits.
The relevant data can be found on the corresponding product page on our website, e.g. for linear guides type FDA (cassette and double rail)

In most cases, the dimensions and the drilling pattern are similar or even identical. However, the load ratings can differ.

For an examination of the compatibility, please send the name of the manufacturer as well as the designation and a drawing of the rail to our technical support:
https://www.franke-gmbh.com/contact/international/
The dimensions of the rail will then be compared to our cassettes.
We will be pleased to prepare a lifetime calculation for you.
